BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 5. Turkmen Foreign
\nMinister Rashid Meredov met with Dutch Prime Minister’s Foreign and
\nDefense Affairs Adviser Christoffer Jonker in The Hague.<\/p>\n
This was reflected in a statement published by the Ministry of
\nForeign Affairs of Turkmenistan.<\/p>\n
According to the Ministry, the sides discussed ways to give
\nadditional momentum to Turkmen-Dutch relations, including
\nintensifying political contacts and expanding dialogue both
\nbilaterally and within the Turkmenistan-European Union format.<\/p>\n
They also exchanged views on the current international and
\nregional situation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Turkmen side outlined its approaches, which stem from the
\ncountry\u2019s status as a permanently neutral state, emphasizing the
\nparticular importance of preventive diplomacy, political dialogue,
\nand peaceful means in resolving complex international situations,\u201d
\nthe statement says.<\/p>\n
The meeting also covered cultural and humanitarian cooperation
\nbetween the two countries.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Netherlands and Turkmenistan have been developing
\neconomic cooperation in areas including water management,
\nagriculture, horticulture, maritime infrastructure and industrial
\ntechnologies. Dutch companies have previously explored
\nopportunities in Turkmenistan, while bilateral business contacts
\nhave been supported through business forums and meetings involving
\nrepresentatives of the two countries\u2019 private sectors. Water
\nmanagement has remained one of the most prominent areas, reflecting
\nTurkmenistan\u2019s need for technologies aimed at improving the
\nefficiency of water use and the Netherlands\u2019 extensive expertise in
