The Lagos State Government has deepened its investment and infrastructure partnership with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, receiving a high-level delegation and a coastal protection pre-feasibility report as it intensifies preparations for its forthcoming global investment summit.\n<\/p>\n
The engagement, officials said, underscores Lagos\u2019 expanding international collaborations.\n<\/p>\n
It saw the state host the Dutch delegation led by the Consul General, Michael Deelen, while also receiving a technical report from CDR International on coastal protection planning.\n<\/p>\n
Officials said the move is part of broader efforts to attract investment and strengthen climate-resilient infrastructure, ahead of the Invest Lagos 3.0 summit scheduled for June.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the meeting, the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, positioned Lagos as a leading destination for global capital, describing the forthcoming summit as a platform to deepen economic transformation.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cLagos is not only Nigeria\u2019s economic nerve centre; it is a dynamic, forward-looking marketplace of opportunities. Through deliberate leadership and strategic engagement, we continue to open new frontiers for investment, innovation, and inclusive growth.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cInvest Lagos 3.0 will convene global stakeholders, unlock capital flows, and further establish Lagos as the gateway to Africa,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The summit is being organised in partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council and is expected to bring together international investors, policymakers and business leaders.\n<\/p>\n
The Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Dayo Bush-Alebiosu, highlighted the economic potential of Lagos\u2019 coastal and inland waterways, noting that ongoing projects are opening up new opportunities across tourism, real estate and marine transport.\n<\/p>\n
He said strengthening ties with the Netherlands would further accelerate development in waterfront infrastructure and support sustainable urban growth.\n<\/p>\n
Deelen, in his remarks, said the Netherlands remained committed to supporting Lagos\u2019 development priorities, particularly in financing infrastructure and climate-focused projects through Invest International.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Netherlands is proud to partner with Lagos State in advancing its developmental aspirations. Through Invest International, we offer flexible financing solutions that Lagos can leverage to deliver high-impact projects, particularly in coastal protection and sustainable infrastructure,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n
Officials said the coastal protection pre-feasibility report provides a technical foundation for long-term planning, reinforcing the state\u2019s push for data-driven solutions to environmental challenges.\n<\/p>\n
