Representatives of the State Prosecutor’s Office – heads of higher and basic state prosecutor’s offices are on a two-day study visit to the European Agency for Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters (Eurojust) in The Hague, with the support of the Western Balkan Criminal Justice project (WBCJ).<\/p>\n

The visit was organized with the aim of regularly monitoring contemporary trends in the field of international judicial cooperation in the fight against crime, the Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) announced.\n<\/p>\n

The Montenegrin delegation was welcomed by Eurojust President Mihael \u0160mid.<\/p>\n

Through thematic sessions, state prosecutors were presented with normative innovations regulating the jurisdiction of Eurojust, as well as efficient mechanisms of direct cooperation through institutional and project capacities accompanied by expert and financial support.<\/p>\n

In addition to learning about the functioning of the case management system of this European agency, state prosecutors were introduced to the activities of various specialized bodies established within Eurojust, to monitor new forms of crime and exchange best practices.<\/p>\n

Eurojust representatives, among other things, presented the work of the Secretariat, networks and focus groups dealing with analysis and support in cases of organized crime, money laundering, migrant smuggling, human trafficking, as well as cases in which there is a need to form joint investigation teams.<\/p>\n

“The study visit was an exceptional opportunity to exchange experiences and practices, as well as to improve knowledge about the efficient use of mechanisms of international judicial cooperation with European Union member states and third countries, through Eurojust,” the VDT announced.<\/p>\n
