RIVERSIDE, Mo. \u2013- One local artist is painting part of the city orange with a large-scale Netherlands-themed art installation in Riverside, Missouri that is already turning heads.<\/p>\n
Whiskey Ranch plans unique cowboy experience for World Cup visitors in KC <\/a><\/p>\n The Kansas City Current\u2019s training facility in Riverside will serve as the Netherlands\u2019 base camp this summer during the World Cup.<\/p>\n \u201cSo the mayor was like, let\u2019s paint this town orange, Jeff, and you are the right guy to do it,\u201d said artist Jeff Parson.<\/p>\n Jeff Parson is the owner of\u00a0Fearless Jack Rabbit Art.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n Parson is the artist behind the Netherlands-themed artwork display just off of Northwest Gateway Avenue. He\u2019s been working on it for about three weeks.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s really exciting for me because I do this in pieces, and I\u2019m stunned when it comes together. I was thrilled to see it go together,\u201d Parson explained.<\/p>\n The display features Netherlands players and plenty of orange elements.<\/p>\n \u201cLet\u2019s just start there, and let\u2019s do something big and bold that will really get people\u2019s attention,\u201d Parson explained.<\/p>\n The project expanded into a full-scale, temporary, World Cup park off of Northwest Gateway Avenue. The Mayor of Riverside commissioned Parson\u00a0to design the large-scale installation.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThis will be a temporary park where people can come down, celebrate the Netherlands being here, celebrate the World Cup, something that will celebrate and elevate our community,\u201d Parson said.<\/p>\n
