{"id":7660,"date":"2026-05-01T13:08:06","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T13:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/7660\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T13:08:06","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T13:08:06","slug":"suspect-in-dutch-princesses-attack-plot-to-face-court-in-the-hague","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/7660\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspect in Dutch princesses attack plot to face court in The Hague"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) \u2014 A 33-year-old man will appear in court next week after he was detained on suspicion of plotting an attack on two Dutch princesses, prosecutors said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>According to details in a court scheduling order published on the website of The Hague Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office, the man is suspected of preparing an attack on the 22-year-old heir to the Dutch throne, Amalia, Princess of Orange, and her 20-year-old sister, Princess Alexia, in February in The Hague.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect was allegedly in possession of two axes in early February with the words \u2018Alexia\u2019, \u2018Mossad\u2019, and \u2018Sieg Heil\u2019 carved into them, and he allegedly had a handwritten sheet with the words \u2018Amalia\u2019, \u2018Alexia\u2019, and \u2018Bloodbath,\u2019\u201d the scheduling order said.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for The Hague public prosecutor\u2019s office declined to give any more details on the case, ahead of Monday\u2019s procedural hearing. It was not clear where or when the man was arrested. The suspect\u2019s name was not released, in line with Dutch privacy regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The Royal House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Amalia has faced threats before. The heir to the Dutch throne was forced in 2022 to give up Amsterdam\u2019s student life and live at her parents\u2019 palace due to <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/queen-elizabeth-ii-entertainment-crime-royalty-amsterdam-fc1a7de966cf72b0ed46245a19663785\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">threats<\/a> believed to come from the criminal underworld.
