{"id":7957,"date":"2026-05-03T04:56:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T04:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/7957\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T04:56:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T04:56:11","slug":"dutch-princesses-catharina-amalia-and-alexia-targeted-in-murder-plot-as-police-find-axes-nazi-note","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/7957\/","title":{"rendered":"Dutch Princesses Catharina-Amalia and Alexia targeted in murder plot as police find axes, Nazi note"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The future Queen of the Netherlands and her younger sister were the targets of a suspected far-right extremist who hatched a sinister Nazi murder plot against the princesses before authorities foiled the attack.<\/p>\n<p>A 33-year-old man will appear in court next week after he was suspected of planning to harm Princess of Orange Catharina-Amalia, 22, and Princess Alexia, 20, in February, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/world-news\/2026\/05\/01\/dutch-princesses-targeted-nazi-axe-plot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to the Telegraph.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Catharina-Amalia, the daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, is the heir to the throne of the Netherlands, while Alexia is second in line.<\/p>\n<p>Princess Amalia and Princess Alexia attend the King\u2019s Day celebrations in Emmen, Netherlands, on April 27, 2024. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was captured in The Hague, where he was carrying two axes engraved with the names \u201cAlexia\u201d and \u201cMossad,\u201d Israel\u2019s intelligence agency, as well as \u201cSieg Heil,\u201d the propaganda chant used by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime, officials said. <\/p>\n<p>Authorities also recovered a handwritten note that had the words \u201cAmalia,\u201d \u201cAlexia,\u201d and \u201cbloodbath\u201d scrawled across the sheet. <\/p>\n<p>The Hague Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office didn\u2019t release any additional information, including the suspect\u2019s name, because of Dutch privacy laws.<\/p>\n<p>A motive behind the planned attack and the disturbing writings was not revealed.<\/p>\n<p>The royal family, or the House of Orange-Nassau, is historically Protestant. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The revelations of the February arrest coincided with the royal family, including Amalia and Alexia, celebrating King\u2019s Day with public appearances in the fortified city of Dokkum on April 27.<\/p>\n<p>Amalia, the young heir apparent, has been the prime subject of several sinister plots, including a suspected conspiracy by gangs to kidnap her and then-Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. <\/p>\n<p>In 2022, authorities had intercepted communications between gang members that messaged the future queen and Rutte, who is serving as the Secretary-General of NATO.<\/p>\n<p>Queen Maxima <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/10\/16\/dutch-princess-catharina-amalia-moved-from-student-housing-to-palace-over-security-concerns\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pulled Amalia out of student housing<\/a> at college and brought her back to the security of the royal palace a month into her studies over concerns about her daughter\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStart your day with all you need to know\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-module__cta\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMorning Report delivers the latest news, videos, photos and more.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tThanks for signing up!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The then-18-year-old was a month into studying politics and economics at the University of Amsterdam and was living with several other students.<\/p>\n<p>Amalia returned to living with her parents because of the threats, rarely going out in public at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has enormous consequences for her life,\u201d\u00a0Queen Maxima said at the time. \u201cIt means that she\u2019s not living in Amsterdam and that she can\u2019t really go outside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moroccan crime syndicate, Mocro Maffia, was believed to be behind the transmissions<\/p>\n<p>The Dutch Royal Family poses for a photo in Dokkum, Netherlands, on April 27, 2026.
