\"\"Amsterdam public transport company GVB has selected Arcadis as one of three providers under a framework agreement for consulting and engineering services. The framework agreement has a maximum duration of eight years and an estimated total value of EUR 50 million for all providers.<\/p>\n

The framework agreement supports GVB\u2019s program to renew and improve the public transport network, which carries over 21 million passengers monthly, and offers Arcadis the opportunity to manage a portfolio of long-term projects in the Amsterdam metropolitan area.<\/p>\n

Under this agreement, Arcadis will support projects in the areas of rail and public transport infrastructure in Amsterdam, traction and power supply systems, as well as asset management. The scope of work also includes project and contract management, systems engineering, and sustainability consulting, helping to translate strategic objectives into implementable projects and measurable results.<\/p>\n

Arcadis will provide both strategic and operational consulting as well as direct support in project implementation, in close collaboration with GVB\u2019s internal departments. The agreement is designed to ensure access to predictable capacity and specialized expertise, while maintaining technical quality and delivery reliability\u2014essential factors in a dense urban environment, where work must be planned to minimize disruption to passengers and the city.<\/p>\n

Arcadis achieved the highest overall score in the tender, based on GVB\u2019s assessment of the best value for money, reflecting the robustness of the proposed approach, experience, expertise, and delivery model.<\/p>\n

Modernizing public transport in Amsterdam<\/p>\n

Amsterdam\u2019s public transport system plays a central role in supporting economic activity, managing congestion, and improving air quality. As cities across Europe modernize aging infrastructure and accelerate decarbonization, operators are increasingly integrating asset management, systems engineering, and sustainability consulting to enhance network resilience and the passenger experience. GVB\u2019s selection of Arcadis reflects this transition toward integrated, results-oriented models.<\/p>\n

Amsterdam is not only implementing infrastructure projects but is also renewing its tram fleet. Recently, GVB launched a tender for the procurement of 75 new trams<\/a>, with the contract set to be awarded in 2027.<\/p>\n
