The Mirafiori Assembly Plant already builds the Fiat 500e, and <a href=\"https:\/\/moparinsiders.com\/fiat-revives-a-legend-with-the-new-500-hybrid-lineup\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with hybrid variants returning<\/a>, it seems like a natural candidate for a similar light-commercial conversion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3687\" data-end=\"3961\">Now, to be fair, when you look at the numbers, you can see why Stellantis leaned toward the Leapmotor T03 as the better base for a small utility vehicle. While the Fiat 500e is slightly wider, the T03 is taller and offers more interior headroom and a more usable cargo area.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3963\" data-end=\"4010\">Here\u2019s how they stack up (approximate figures):<\/p>\n<p>Length: Nearly identical \u2014 3,620 mm (142.5 inches) for the T03 vs. 3,632 mm (143.0 inches) for the 500e<br \/>\nHeight: T03 is taller at 1,577 mm (62.1 inches) vs. 1,527 mm (60.1 inches) for the 500e<br \/>\nWidth: 500e is slightly wider at 1,683 mm (66.3 inches) vs. 1,652 mm (65.0 inches) for the T03<br \/>\nCargo Space: T03 offers 210 liters (7.4 cubic feet) vs. 185 liters (6.5 cubic feet) in the 500e<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4428\" data-end=\"4702\">On top of that, the Leapmotor T03 features a five-door layout, compared to the Fiat 500e\u2019s traditional three-door setup. That alone makes a big difference when you\u2019re talking about daily usability, especially for loading and unloading cargo in tight urban environments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4704\" data-end=\"4847\">So yes, from a packaging and practicality standpoint, it makes sense that the T03 is the more flexible platform for a light commercial vehicle.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4849\" data-end=\"5138\">But even with that in mind, it still feels like Fiat is missing an opportunity here. Stellantis has the manufacturing footprint, brand recognition, and heritage right there at Mirafiori. Instead, it continues to open the door wider for Leapmotor to gain traction in Europe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5140\" data-end=\"5280\">From a cost and scalability standpoint, the move is understandable.
