Cristobal downgraded to tropical depression, expected to dissipate soon, NHC says
Cristobal was downgraded to a tropical depression in the open Atlantic on Thursday, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The center of Cristobal is located about 610 miles west of the Azores.
The system became a named storm on Wednesday morning but has since weakened into a tropical depression.
The depression was moving northeast at about 16 mph, and that general motion was expected to continue through Thursday.
Maximum sustained winds: 35 mph. Minimum central pressure: 1014 mb.Movement: East-northeast at 16 mph.
There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

The NHC is also monitoring two other systems in the Atlantic.
