Gavin Newsom’s Fair Oaks estate featuring ‘a personal wellness oasis’ goes on sale for $7.5 million

Gov. Gavin Newsom and first partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s gated estate on Tobia Way in Fair Oaks hit the market for $7.5 million, according to a listing with Sotheby’s International Real Estate.
The 12,663-square-foot residence is “privately positioned along the bluffs on 8.2 acres, where sweeping views and exceptional privacy create a truly rare setting,” according to the listing. (See photos from the listing below.)
The property near the American River includes a “resort-style” pool with a cold plunge and a hot tub that helps create a “personal wellness oasis just steps from the primary suite.”
There is also a full-sized tennis court, private casita and a 5,000-bottle wine cellar. The garage can hold four cars.
The estate includes seven bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and three partial bathrooms.
“It’s a beautiful property,” Sotheby’s International Real Estate listing agent Matthew Hindy told KCRA 3 in a statement. “It’s been well maintained and holds a special charm.”
The other Sotheby’s listing agent is Nick Sadek.
KCRA 3 previously reported the Newsoms purchased the property for $3.7 million in December 2018.
In 2024, Newsom’s press secretary announced that the family would split its time between their Sacramento-area home and in Marin County.
The San Francisco Chronicle later reported the family had moved into a home in Kentfield that had sold for $9.1 million.
“With the governor’s term ending in January 2027, the family began a gradual transition in 2024, purchasing a home in Marin County to provide continuity for their children’s education,” Newsom spokesperson Izzy Gardon told KCRA 3 in a statement on Monday. “The sale of their Sacramento home is the next step in that transition.”
Newsom is the third-straight governor to split his time between Sacramento and elsewhere in the state.
Gov. Jerry Brown commuted from Oakland for part of his time in office. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger commuted from Los Angeles throughout his time in office.
