At least 1 dead after big rig carrying concert equipment crashes along Interstate 5 in Yolo County

Jonathan AyestasDUFOUR, Calif. —

At least one person is dead after a big rig carrying concert equipment crashed and overturned along Interstate 5 in Yolo County on Thursday morning.

The crash was reported shortly after 6:05 a.m. along southbound I-5, between the Zamora and Dufour areas and northwest of Woodland, according to online California Highway Patrol traffic logs. The overturned big rig blocked all lanes just south of County Road 95, but they have since reopened.

Crews spent hours working to upright and remove the big rig from the road before reopening all lanes.

Traffic Expert Brian Hickey said a medical helicopter had landed in the middle of the roadway to respond to the crash, but it has since left the area.
