{"id":10849,"date":"2026-03-29T01:34:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-29T01:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/news\/10849\/"},"modified":"2026-03-29T01:34:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-29T01:34:08","slug":"all-clear-given-at-state-capitol-after-bomb-threat-scare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/news\/10849\/","title":{"rendered":"All clear given at State Capitol after bomb threat scare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) &#8211; The Hawaii State Capitol and nearby streets were reopened Saturday after being evacuated while police investigated a bomg threat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Around 9:50 a.m., Honolulu police assisted state sheriffs with an evacuation after state Department of Law Enforcement canine units and the HPD Special Services Division responded to a possible explosive in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Nearly three hours later, Honolulu police released a statement saying:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) and the Department of Law Enforcement (DLE) have reopened all roadways, as well the Hawaii State Capitol, following an earlier evacuation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Punchbowl, Richards, Miller and Beretania streets near the Capitol were closed off.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officials said there was no longer a threat to the public and the planned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaiinewsnow.com\/2026\/03\/28\/thousands-expected-no-dictators-protests-across-the-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.hawaiinewsnow.com\/2026\/03\/28\/thousands-expected-no-dictators-protests-across-the-state\/\">\u2018No Dictators\u2019 protest<\/a> will be moving back to the capitol. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 Hawaii News Now.
