{"id":13842,"date":"2026-04-04T23:55:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T23:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/news\/13842\/"},"modified":"2026-04-04T23:55:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T23:55:09","slug":"amber-alert-for-8-year-old-wisconsin-girl-canceled-suspect-taken-into-custody","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/news\/13842\/","title":{"rendered":"Amber Alert for 8-year-old Wisconsin girl canceled, suspect taken into custody"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATE:<\/p>\n<p>At 2:30 p.m., Wautoma police said that Irene Lentz was found by Nebraska State Patrol and that Joseph Nicpon is in custody.<\/p>\n<p>It is unknown at this time if Betty Lentz is also in custody.<\/p>\n<p>The police department added that they were helped by the Adams County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Wisconsin DOJ Criminal Investigation Division, Wisconsin DOC, FBI, U.S. Marshal\u2019s Service, Wild Rose police, Waushara County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Waushara Child Protective Services and the Sauk County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>KSTP\u2019s initial story on Irene\u2019s disappearance can be read below.<\/p>\n<p>An Amber Alert has been issued for an 8-year-old girl from Wautoma who went missing on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Irene Lentz is believed to be with two adults, and authorities are concerned for her safety. She has not been seen since Friday and is described as having brown hair and hazel eyes.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"285\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/661409795_1433157198853178_1667169242159949550_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3898032\"  \/>Courtesy: WIDOJ<\/p>\n<p>Two suspects are believed to be traveling with Irene in a vehicle: Irene\u2019s mother, 34-year-old Betty Lentz, and 44-year-old Joseph Nicpon, a man charged with sexual assault and incest against a child.<\/p>\n<p>In a news release issued Saturday, the Wautoma Police stated Nicpon, who was a sex offender on supervised release, removed his tracking bracelet in Adams County.<\/p>\n<p>Police believe Betty Lentz took herself and Irene to meet with Nicpon, despite Nicpon being prohibited from having contact with them both.
