Now we can add a new visual to that list: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/nasa2explore\/55193054741\/in\/photostream\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a total solar eclipse<\/a> as seen from deep space. It looks almost too perfect; the Moon has crisp, but uneven edges, while bright stars dot the area around it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The four-member crew witnessed the eclipse while beyond the Moon, creating a vastly different visual experience from what we would typically see on Earth, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/04\/06\/science\/live-news\/nasa-artemis-2-flyby-moon-mission#:~:text=On%20Earth%2C%20totality,Earth%E2%80%99s%20reflected%20glow.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">as noted by CNN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/nasas-artemis-ii-crew-experience-total-solar-eclipse-from-space\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scientific American<\/a>. In addition to experiencing a longer total eclipse totality from space \u2014 lasting nearly one hour instead of just a few minutes here on Earth \u2014 the Artemis II crew got a glimpse at the Sun\u2019s corona wispily peeking out from behind the Moon without interference from the Earth\u2019s atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">\u201dIt\u2019s just indescribable.
