Internationally, the event is available on Netflix.

It can’t be as bad as night one when WrestleMania’s biggest star takes over WWE again

Night one of WrestleMania 42 was a disappointing show at best, and perhaps the least interesting WrestleMania event in years. There were too many ads, not enough wrestling, and a lot of Pat McAfee. It just didn’t feel like a modern WrestleMania.

WWE will try to end the weekend on a high note with night two, which features a more intriguing card on paper. It is capped off with a main event match of World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns. This wasn’t WWE’s original plan for the main event of WrestleMania, but after top stars like Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker went down to injury, WWE found the best possible opponent for Reigns who’s not named Cody Rhodes.

Many folks would argue that Roman is still WWE’s biggest star despite dropping the WWE championship to Rhodes two years ago at WrestleMania 40 and staying out of the title mix since then. After watching Cody fumble the ball, Reigns is ready to take back his top spot in the company so that he can reset the standard. He’s also ready to beat the shit out a man he has hated for years, CM Punk. That’s why Roman chose Punk to be his WrestleMania opponent after winning the Royal Rumble.

The weekly promos leading up to this fight have largely revolved around Punk trashing Roman for having a dead father being a part-timer who can only win when his family helps him, and Roman trashing Punk for being an old man who doesn’t deserve to be leading WWE as the world champ after he abandoned the company years ago. Roman has gone as far as to say that he doesn’t belong in WWE anymore if he loses to CM in tonight’s main event.

This is Roman’s 11th main event match at WrestleMania, far more than anyone in history. But he’s lost his last two WrestleMania matches, and hasn’t held championship gold in over two years. Will WWE go back to Roman Reigns as a world champion in the company even though he now only works a handful of matches each year? Will the Tribal Chief bring back The Bloodline to beat this old man and reclaim his top spot in WWE, or can Reigns finally do it on his own? Tune into night two of WrestleMania 42 to find out.

Here are the remaining five matches that are currently advertised for night two of WrestleMania 42.

Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s championship

Jade Cargill isn’t a part-timer, but this is only her second title defense on TV or PLE since she won the belt nearly six months ago. There isn’t some brilliant storyline or character development that helps explain or enhance this fact; she’s simply had a very boring, forgettable, and nothing-happening reign as WWE women’s champion.

Enter Rhea Ripley, the biggest star in WWE’s women’s division. She got into a strange social media beef with Jade that was a shoot unless it was a work, and then won the Elimination Chamber to earn this title match at WrestleMania. Cargill needed backup to deal with The Eradicator, so she got Michin and B-Fab to turn on Rhea and join up with her as The Baddies. They used the numbers game to their advantage to help Cargill lay out Ripley multiple times with her finishing move. Rhea responded by bringing her best friend IYO SKY into the mix. Despite having her own story with Asuka and Kairi Sane, IYO is now playing the role of Rhea’s side kick at WrestleMania to neutralize Jade’s low card henchwomen.

As far as the promos go, Jade says her arms are bigger than Rhea’s and she is more powerful, which makes her a better champion. Rhea says Jade’s impressive body is built for show but it’s not built for fighting. That means Rhea can survive Jade’s best shot, but the same won’t be true in reverse. Perhaps we will find out if that’s accurate when they clash over the WWE women’s championship tonight.

Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams for the United States championship

Sami Zayn was down in the dumps on the road to WrestleMania after blowing his latest WWE championship match at Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. He smashed a lot of water bottles backstage while grilling top stars like Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton to try figuring out what he needs to do to stop being such a loser.

Zayn finally realized that he can’t be so concerned about doing the right thing all the time, and instead needs to take advantage of opportunities. That’s exactly what he did when he beat Carmelo Hayes for the US title after Trick Williams accidentally attacked Melo. The fans have been booing Sami Hogan since then, and he says he doesn’t understand why.

Meanwhile, Trick talks and works like a heel, but the fans have fallen in love with him ever since he joined the main roster at the start of 2026. He’s been a thorn in Sami’s side the entire time and mocks him as the “Gingerbread Man.” Trick now gets to be an even bigger pain in Sami’s ass by taking this belt from him at WrestleMania. Lil Yachty has been supporting Trick in recent weeks, but Zayn took his head off with a Helluva Kick.

“The Demon” Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio

Finn and Dominik coexisted much longer in The Judgment Day than it looked like they would at this time last year, but their relationship fell apart last month after Mysterio blamed Balor for his Intercontinental title loss to Penta. Finn committed an unforgivable sin by saying Rey was right about his son being a spoiled little shit, so the Judgment Day turned on Balor. Babyface Finn is now bringing back his Demon form at WrestleMania to pay back Dom for that beating, as well as everything else they’ve been through together over the last few years. If night one of WrestleMania is any indication, The Demon’s entrance might just be longer than the actual match time.

Penta (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. Rusev vs. JD McDonagh in a Ladder match for the Intercontinental title (ESPN)

Penta needed a title defense at WrestleMania after recently winning the Intercontinental championship, so WWE put him in a ladder match that features some pretty great workers, as well as one of the brightest young stars on the main roster, Je’Von Evans. This one could easily steal the show on night two of WrestleMania 42, and you can watch it on ESPN’s cable channel during the first hour of the event.

Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar (ESPN)

The build to WrestleMania 42 has been bad, underwhelming, and/or chaotic at times, but one story that WWE has absolutely nailed is newcomer Oba Femi’s pursuit of Brock Lesnar. The Ruler quickly asserted his dominance by popping Brock up for a thunderous powerbomb as he answered his open challenge for WrestleMania. Lesnar has yet to get the better of Femi in their confrontations since then.

The fans can’t get enough of Oba and are anticipating that he will conquer The Conqueror to cement himself as the next big thing in WWE. Paul Heyman says this is the real main event of WrestleMania 42, even though it is kicking the night off on ESPN’s cable channel. Brock’s style of very brief, suplex-heavy matches can be hit or miss, so it’s far from a lock that this one will live up the hype once the bell rings. Will anybody in the crowd be holding up a “If Brock Wins We Riot” sign?

In addition to the six scheduled matches tonight, I’m still waiting for Danhausen to meet John Cena, who is hosting the event. You just never know what surprises are in store outside the matches, such as Bianca Belair’s pregnancy announcement last night.

What will you be looking for at night two of WrestleMania 42?
