{"id":23975,"date":"2026-05-03T17:24:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T17:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/news\/23975\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T17:24:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T17:24:14","slug":"illegal-migrant-butchers-2-women-in-savage-li-murders-cops-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/news\/23975\/","title":{"rendered":"Illegal migrant butchers 2 women in savage LI murders, cops say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An illegal migrant on Long Island fatally butchered a beloved mom of two and another woman in separate savage attacks \u2014 before calling cops and calmly confessing he \u201ckilled somebody,\u2019\u2019 police said.<\/p>\n<p>Rony Yahir Alvarenga Rivera, 22, of El Salvador \u2014 who entered the US as an unaccompanied 12-year-old in 2016 \u2014 knifed a 42-year-old coworker to death at an Island Park Wendy\u2019s around 12:30 a.m. Friday, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Illegal migrant Rony Yahir Alvarenga Rivera, 22, is accused of murdering two women on Long Island. Nassau County Police Department<\/p>\n<p>The victim,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/2-stabbed-to-death-island-park-valley-stream-long-island\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> identified by CBS-TV News<\/a> as Ana Maria de Aguila Cordova, a mother of two from Long Beach, was taking out the trash when she was ambushed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t stop crying,\u2019\u2019 a weeping female Wendy\u2019s coworker told The Post on Sunday, pointing to the blood-stained spot on the sidewalk outside the fast-food restaurant where the hardworking mother was killed.<\/p>\n<p>Rivera, 22, allegedly stabbed a 42-year-old coworker to death as she took out the garbage at a\u00a0Wendy\u2019s in Island Park in Nassau County after killing his roommate hours earlier. CBS News<\/p>\n<p>Three hours earlier, around 9 p.m. Thursday, Rivera had hacked his 32-year-old roommate to death at their Valley Stream apartment, according to Nassau County police.<\/p>\n<p>He later went to his job at Wendy\u2019s and killed his second victim, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>Both of the dead women suffered brutal stab wounds to the neck and torso.<\/p>\n<p>Rivera then allegedly called the police and told them what he had done.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we were at the [Wendy\u2019s] scene, we received information that an individual was stopped at 169 Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook,\u201d Detective Lt. George Darienzo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe asked to see police and when police arrived, he said he killed somebody that night,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said at a press briefing, \u201cThis didn\u2019t have to happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is just an example of what happens when you have open borders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy are we letting an unaccompanied minor into our country to run around, basically without any supervision whatsoever?\u201d Blakeman said. \u201cAnd then that individual grows up and automatically gets legal status in our country. This is a policy today that resulted in two women getting killed.<\/p>\n<p>Durianzo said police had first responded to a 911 call at the Wendy\u2019s at 33 Austin Blvd. in North Long Beach on reports of a man with a knife.<\/p>\n<p>The second stabbing took place outside a Wendy\u2019s restaurant in Island Park. CBS News<\/p>\n<p>Cops found Cordova\u2019s body in front the restaurant, where she was pronounced dead, the officer said.<\/p>\n<p>While at that scene, police then got word of a dead woman at 90 West Mideola Ave. in Valley Stream, which is Rivera\u2019s apartment, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey live in the same household, so they rent bedrooms at that location, and there\u2019s general spaces throughout the house that they share \u2014 living room, kitchen, bathroom,\u201d Durianzo said of Rivera and the first dead victim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo they cohabitate, they\u2019re acquaintances of one another,\u201d he said. \u201cAs far as a relationship, I\u2019m not aware of a specific domestic relationship between those two.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rivera was arrested outside a 7-Eleven in Lynbrook after he called the cops on himself.<\/p>\n<p>Police did not reveal a possible motive for the vicious slayings and did not identify the two victims.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect had no prior arrests or gang affiliation, police said.<\/p>\n<p>He is charged with first- and second-degree murder, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The county executive, the GOP frontrunner to challenge Gov.
