A shooting near Arcadia Lake left at least 10 people hospitalized and resulted in a massive police presence on Sunday night.<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSo we’re out here investigating *** shooting this evening that occurred at approximately 9 o’clock. Uh, there’s *** party at Lake Arcadia. Um, Edmond police along with Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Oklahoma City Police responded to find multiple victims. I can confirm that we have transported 10 to area metro hospitals in various conditions. I do not have an update on those conditions at this time. However, there will be more victim numbers coming in as some did take their own personal vehicles to the hospital. Um, we are going to be investigating throughout the evening and on in on into tomorrow. Anyone with information can contact the Edmond Police Department. Um, so that’s really all the information we have at this time. Uh, we will, like I said, we’ll, as soon as we can update with, um, more information, we will get that out. So just various injuries and no fatalities at this time. I don’t have *** condition on anyone, um, as far as fatality or not, but yes, various, various conditions, um, and we have not received an update on those at this time. I’ll, I’ll go ahead and take some questions if you guys. Is there, are there any suspects? So we’re investigating. We do not have anyone in custody at this time. OK, yes. They’re *** threat to the public right now. There’s no reason to believe there’s *** threat to the public, OK. And then, um, just what, what do the next hours look like for you guys here? Um, so our investigators are at the scene. Um, it’s, it’s very dark right now, so obviously as the sun comes up, they’ll be, um, we’ll continue to investigate. Um, they’re just right now it’s just, you know, we, we’re taking witness statements. We’re kind of all over the metro speaking with victims and witnesses, so that’s what we’ll be doing in these next, multiple hours. Did you all get calls coming in saying there were shootings? Like, did people, various calls come in, or how did that? We did. We received multiple calls on shootings, shots fired, multiple shots, um, so that, that was what led to the large, um. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol coming, the, the Oklahoma City Police Department and Edmond, as well as Edmond Fire. So how many agencies in total are here? We’ve seen *** number of vehicles. Like, is this *** multi-agency investigation or it’s an Edmond investigation. They were in the area, the highway patrol and the Oklahoma City Police, and so that would, that’s just something that they would do to come, um, in such *** large, uh, event. Can you give us an idea of what kind of party this was? We know graduation is happening this weekend, going into next weekend. Was it teenagers? Do we know, or was it adults, college? Can you give us an idea of what kind of party it was? I don’t have any information on that. Um, I do know it was *** large group of young people having *** party by the lake. Yes, OK. And when you say young people, what age range would you say about if you had to guess? I’d hate to guess, um, just, but, you know, not, not young children, um, young adults, or, yeah, so it’s *** little too early. I don’t want to put out information that wouldn’t be correct. Any message at all? I mean this is just, I mean, obviously shootings can happen, but the magnitude of this, I mean people at *** party, lots of injuries. I mean, I spoke to *** woman who was devastated because her cousin and her sister were shot and she was just. Understandably, you know, concerned about what was going on. Any message at all for just the magnitude of what happened here? This is obviously *** very terrifying situation, and we understand the concern from the public and those involved, and we are doing, we are working extremely hard to find these suspects and Help these victims. We really appreciate the public’s patience with us and understanding, and we will get the information that’s most important out as soon as we have it. So what can the public do to assist you guys, uh, you know, with this investigation and anything like that? Is there *** number they should call for tips or anything like that? They can just call our main line at the Edmond Police Department. Um, I’ll give that to you guys off, off camera. Um, but yes, if, if you were *** witness and you did not get to speak to, uh, investigators this evening, please call and if you have any information to share that could be helpful. How long is the scene going to be closed off for? Imagine several hours. Do you have like *** guesstimate on when it could be opened? I do not. OK. The figure that you shared, the 10 people that were transported, were they transported from here at this scene, or is that inclusive of perhaps other scenes that you mentioned that people privately drove themselves to? Uh, we did have one victim that drove themselves to the on cue at 15th, and so that was one of the ones that we transported. OK, so that was that one victim that was at the on cue as part of that 10 figure that. Yes, OK, got it. I’m assuming that Mexicans have all been notified in this situation, but if there are any family members who are wondering where their family members are, I know we’ve had *** few come through here trying to get to their friends, family, loved ones. Is there *** reunification center for somebody or *** point where they can meet up or where their loved ones were all taken to? At this point they can call our Edmond dispatch line for information, but yes, I do believe that those next of kin have been notified. I think there was initially some discussion about trying to use traffic cameras in the area to try and learn more information. Has that provided anything to you all?
