Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni\u2019s ugly legal battle isn\u2019t over just yet, as the actress still has a\u00a0pending motion\u00a0connected to her \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d co-star\u2019s dismissed lawsuit against her.<\/p>\n
Although the pair reached a surprising settlement<\/a> in Lively\u2019s complaint against Baldoni on Monday, the \u201cGossip Girl\u201d alum is still seeking attorneys\u2019 fees and damages from the director\u2019s failed lawsuit, according to Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, filed a $400 million countersuit<\/a> against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation, extortion and more in January 2025 \u2013 one month after the 38-year-old actress filed her lawsuit<\/a> alleging sexual harassment, retaliation and a smear campaign.<\/p>\n Blake Lively (pictured here at the Met Gala Monday night) is reportedly still seeking attorneys\u2019 fees and damages from Justin Baldoni\u2019s dismissed countersuit against her. William Farrington for NY Post<\/p>\n Lively\u2019s team filed a motion to dismiss the 42-year-old director\u2019s countersuit and requested attorneys\u2019 fees and damages under a California law\u00a0called the Protecting Survivors from Weaponized Defamation Lawsuits Act, which was created in 2023 to protect sexual abuse accusers from retaliatory claims.<\/p>\n While the judge dismissed Baldoni\u2019s countersuit<\/a> in June 2025, he didn\u2019t rule on whether the 2023 law applied. <\/p>\n The judge also denied Lively\u2019s claim for attorney\u2019s fees and damages under the act, but allowed her to renew the motion, which she did in September 2025.<\/p>\n Baldoni\u2019s team then opposed the motion in October 2025, arguing that Lively\u2019s motion violated Baldoni\u2019s constitutional right to petition the courts.<\/p>\n The actress (pictured here leaving court in February) requested attorneys\u2019 fees and damages under a California law created to protect sexual abuse accusers from retaliatory claims.
