\n\tPresident Donald Trump celebrated Stephen Colbert\u2019s exit from CBS<\/a> following the final installment of The Late Show on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

\n\tShortly before 2 a.m., Trump posted: \u201cColbert is finally finished at CBS. Amazing that he lasted so long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person. You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk. Thank goodness he\u2019s finally gone!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tColbert, of course, hosted his final Late Show on Thursday, a star-studded affair <\/a>that ended <\/a>with a performance from Paul McCartney. CBS had previously announced<\/a> that this season would be the show\u2019s last, citing the challenged economics of late night TV.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut Trump, who has been a frequent critic of most of the late night hosts, took things further Friday morning, posting that: \u201cStephen Colbert\u2019s firing from CBS was the \u2018Beginning of the End\u2019 for untalented, nasty, highly overpaid, not funny, and very poorly rated Late Night Television Hosts.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOthers, of even less talent, to soon follow. May they all Rest in Peace!\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt is not immediately clear who Trump was referring to, but NBC\u2019s Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon have occasionally caught his ire, while ABC<\/a> late night host Jimmy Kimmel is a frequent target.
