In a Friday <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JDVance\/status\/2062938286977421755\" rel=\"nofollow\">X post<\/a>, Vance claimed that Nowak would still be alive if European leaders had resisted what he called &#8220;the mass invasion of migrants,&#8221; and that &#8220;we love our civilization.&#8221; &#8220;Each time a life like his is lost, the proper response\u2014the only response\u2014is righteous anger,&#8221; Vance noted in his post. They&#8217;re comments that Downing Street has since condemned as an attempt to &#8220;interfere in our democracy&#8221; and &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newser.com\/story\/390324\/uk-teen-was-stabbed-then-placed-under-arrest.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">stir up division<\/a> on our streets,&#8221; per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/jd-vance-migrants-henry-nowak-b2990724.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Independent<\/a>. Nowak&#8217;s family has asked politicians not to use his death to fuel tension.&#13;\n                                    <\/p>\n<p class=\"storyParagraph\">&#13;<br \/>\n                                        The clash follows bodycam footage showing Nowak handcuffed on the ground, repeatedly saying he couldn&#8217;t breathe, after his killer, 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa, falsely claimed Nowak had racially abused him. Nowak died soon after. Digwa, meanwhile, has been jailed for life, with a minimum term of 21 years. The Trump administration has also accused the UK of &#8220;two-tier policing&#8221;\u2014what the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newser.com\/article\/83cfafa79e81a1c5bf69a86b3d2845b7\/british-pm-criticizes-vance-over-comments-about-uk-teens-stabbing-death.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AP<\/a> describes as &#8220;bias against white people in the British justice system,&#8221; a charge that Downing Street rejects. Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EdwardJDavey\/status\/2062959187894693961\" rel=\"nofollow\">urged Britons<\/a> to resist efforts, from US &#8220;MAGA politicians like Vance&#8221; and their UK allies, to turn the case into a political weapon.
