Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., remains hospitalized well over two weeks after he was found unconscious in his Washington, D.C., home, marking the latest health scare for the 84-year-old senator.<\/p>\n

A McConnell spokesperson told multiple<\/a> outlets<\/a> the senator is recovering in the hospital and \u201ccontinues to improve, and is working closely with his staff on Kentucky and Senate matters while the Senate is out of session.\u201d <\/p>\n Paramedics performed CPR on an individual experiencing a \u201ccardiac arrest\u201d at a known address for McConnell, NBC News<\/a> reported, citing police scanner audio.<\/p>\n McConnell was found unconscious the morning of June 14 and transported to a local hospital in an Advanced Life Support ambulance, according to Punchbowl News<\/a> and the New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n McConnell\u2019s office has not commented on an emergency dispatch recording<\/a> regarding the ambulance that journalist Desiree Townsend shared Tuesday.<\/p>\n A representative for McConnell confirmed to multiple<\/a> outlets<\/a> last month the senator was admitted to a hospital and was \u201creceiving excellent care,\u201d and that a week later he was \u201cworking closely with staff on Senate business.\u201d<\/p>\n However, even as a representative for the senator said he was working with staff this week, it is still not clear what his prognosis is.<\/p>\n McConnell will exit Congress at the end of his term in January, which will conclude his seventh term.<\/p>\n McConnell Has Been Hospitalized Twice This Year<\/p>\n The senator is four-and-a-half months removed from his last hospitalization<\/a>, which occurred after he dealt with flu-like symptoms. McConnell checked himself into the hospital to be treated for the symptoms and was given a \u201cpositive\u201d prognosis. Neurologists who reviewed video of the event disputed McConnell and his team\u2019s claims that he simply felt lightheaded during the episodes, saying he likely experienced mini seizures<\/a>.
