OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A second criminal case has been filed against the driver accused in a crash that killed two children.<\/a><\/p>\n

The second case against Tanner Hunt, 28, of Elkhorn was filed Tuesday and adds three misdemeanor charges: no proof of insurance, driving with a revoked license, and refusal to submit to a blood, breath or urine test. <\/p>\n

Trial on those counts is set for Aug. 17, with bond set at $25,000.<\/p>\n

Police said the crash happened last Thursday. OPD confirmed the 10-year-old\u2019s death on Friday<\/a>, and the 5-year-old\u2019s death on Wednesday<\/a>. On Thursday, police released the brothers\u2019 identities: Zaiden, 5, and Prestin Strassenburg, 10. <\/p>\n

Investigators believe Hunt was driving while intoxicated<\/a> when he struck a car carrying the children and two adults near 114th Street and West Center Road.<\/p>\n

Hunt is charged with motor vehicle homicide and DUI causing serious bodily injury. He remains at Douglas County Corrections on $10 million bond. <\/p>\n

Prosecutors have indicated they expect to upgrade those charges<\/a>, though no upgrade has been filed. Police said an expert determined a combination of alcohol and Adderall played a role in the crash.<\/p>\n
