This rainfall may produce isolated flash flooding, especially in urban areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Water levels may remain elevated through the next high tide cycle along the Louisiana and Texas coastline but should subside thereafter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Though it&#8217;s weakening, Bertha is expected to produce 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, with up to 4 inches in isolated areas, which could lead to flash flooding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A potential storm surge is still possible, and water levels along the coast may remain elevated at least through the next high tide cycle, forecasters said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Swells generated by the remnants of Bertha will continue to affect the Louisiana and Texas coast through tonight.<\/p>\n<p>How is the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season shaping up?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The <a data-ylk=\"slk:2026 Atlantic hurricane season;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;cpos:2;pos:1;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;outcm:mb_qualified_link;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/weather-news\/article\/noaas-2026-atlantic-hurricane-outlook-predicts-below-average-season-what-you-need-to-know-152842391.html\" class=\"link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2026 Atlantic hurricane season<\/a> began on June 1 and lasts until Nov. 30.
