The five-day event highlights China&#8217;s rapid progress in robotics amid a heated tech race with the U.S.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">The games, which are taking place in the National Speed Skating Oval built for the 2022 Winter Olympics, opened the same week Beijing was holding the <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_tech_article_main-content_article-body_6_9309992\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/could-next-chinese-threat-walk-kitchen-two-battery-powered-legs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">2026 World Robot Conference<\/a>, where companies showcased around 3,000 products, including humanoid robots.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\"><a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_tech_article_main-content_article-body_6_9309993\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/china-building-ai-war-machine-washington-must-wake-late\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">CHINA IS BUILDING AN AI WAR MACHINE. (Tingshu Wang\/Reuters)<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">In a standing high jump, a humanoid robot was able to reach 2.88 meters, well above the 0.95 meters best result by a humanoid in last year\u2019s <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_tech_article_main-content_article-body_6_9309994\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/humanoid-robot-games-beijing-china-artificial-intelligence-f0bdd670fae9904aea2c4df398cdcb1a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">first edition of the games<\/a>. I was even a bit resistant to it, because of the possibility that it might replace or displace humans,&#8221; she said. &#8220;But now that I see this development is unstoppable, I decided to come and take a look.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">&#8220;These sports are perfectly normal for humans, but now robots can do them.
