CrowdStrike gained 15% while Okta surged 21%. The broader cyber sector rallied as well, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/PANW\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Palo Alto Networks<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/SAIL\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SailPoint<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/ZS\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zscaler<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/RBRK\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rubrik<\/a> up about 9%. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re in an arms race,&#8221; CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz said during an earnings call with analysts on Wednesday. &#8220;AI is driving more cyberattacks. AI is driving more cyber spending. Watch in real time on CNBC+ or the CNBC Pro stream.<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s flexible Falcon platform offering, which lets customers switch out security tools, doubled year over year, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The release of advanced AI models like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/05\/19\/anthropic-cnbc-disruptor-50-ranking.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthropic<\/a>&#8216;s Mythos, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/08\/01\/open-ai-hugging-face-hack-cyber-warnings.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">attacks<\/a> such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/OPENAI.FG\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OpenAI<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/08\/26\/open-ai-hugging-face-hack.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hugging Face<\/a> hack, have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/08\/08\/hugging-face-ai-hack-cybersecurity-black-hat.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">raised the stakes<\/a> for the cybersecurity sector in recent months, forcing businesses to scale their security stacks to combat mounting attacks orchestrated by AI agents. <\/p>\n<p>One clear winner has been identity security tools that help businesses secure and manage the explosion in AI agents.
