With Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a> back in the UK and their kids enrolled in schools, everyone is wondering how the decision was made and what it means for the future of the British royal family. For now, it seems like it won\u2019t lead directly to a reconciliation between the Sussexes and the rest of the family, but could it also have a negative effect on Harry and Meghan<\/a>?<\/p>\n

\u201cWithin hours of landing, Harry was happier, lighter and more himself,\u201d royal insider Rob Shuter<\/a> reported. \u201cHe\u2019s thrilled to be home. Britain is familiar to him in a way California never was, and you can see the difference immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n

That includes trying to make amends with people he stopped being in contact with after he moved in 2020. \u201cThere are people Harry effectively dumped when he left,\u201d a source explained. \u201cHe moved on and never looked back. Now he\u2019s reaching out again and beginning to acknowledge that walking away from everything may have been a huge mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harry has reportedly already been in contact with his father, King Charles. There has been no meaningful contact with Prince William yet, but the proximity does it make it easier.<\/p>\n

Then, there\u2019s Meghan<\/a>. \u201cShe cannot believe she\u2019s back,\u201d one source said. \u201cMeghan spent years building a completely different life in California. Returning to a country where she felt deeply unhappy and unwelcome is emotionally jarring.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Shuter reported, the two are on very different wavelengths. \u201cHarry has come alive. He\u2019s reconnecting with his father, his friends and his old life. Meghan is shell-shocked. The happier Harry becomes in Britain, the more obvious it is that they may no longer want the same life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just days ago, the same gossip columnist reported that their marriage was not in a good place. These reports have followed Harry and Meghan around since they tied the knot in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir marriage is in serious trouble \u2014 and moving back to the U.K. is their last attempt to save it,\u201d Shuter wrote in an August 21\u00a0Naughty But Nice\u00a0report<\/a>. According to one source, \u201cThey are not in a good place. Harry is deeply unhappy, and Meghan knows she cannot keep asking him to live a life that is making him miserable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMeghan is not doing this because she wants to,\u201d they added. \u201cShe is doing it because she believes she has to. She does not want to lose Harry, and she knows something has to change.\u201d<\/p>\n

The insider continued, \u201cThis is their last chance to reset the marriage.
