Er zijn 5 finalists bij bij The National Book Award in de categorie ‘Translated Literature’ en daartoe behoort Anjet Daanje met The Remembered Soldier. Dat betekent dat ze samen met vertaler David McKay sowieso 1.000 dollar mag verdelen en als ze de Amerikaanse prijs wint dan kunnen ze zelfs 10.000 dollar verdelen. Op woensdag 19 november worden de winnaars bekendgemaakt en weten we of de vertaling van De herinnerde soldaat in de prijzen valt. De finalisten zijn:
