We\u2019ve got his lightsaber in the park. We\u2019ve got more Cal stories coming,\u201d aldus een vertegenwoordiger van Disney in een gesprek over de Star Wars-attracties in Disneyland (via <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/star-wars-jedi-3-cal-kestis-disneyland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">GameRant<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Cal Kestis dook in 2019 op als protagonist van <a href=\"https:\/\/pu.nl\/reviews\/hardware\/consoles\/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order-voelt-geforceerd\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order <\/a>en groeide via <a href=\"https:\/\/pu.nl\/reviews\/games\/pc-games\/star-wars-jedi-survivor-doet-op-alle-fronten-een-stap-vooruit\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jedi: Survivor<\/a> uit tot een van de populairste originele Star Wars-personages van het afgelopen decennium.<\/p>\n<p>Tot op heden bleef het personage netjes binnen de gamewereld, op een voice-over in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy na. Maar Lucasfilm lijkt Cal steeds nadrukkelijker als langetermijninvestering te zien.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Cal-Kestis.jpeg\" alt=\"Cal Kestis\" class=\"wp-image-103358\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Interessanter is het referentieboek Star Wars: Secrets of the Jedi: The Chronicles of Luke Skywalker, geschreven door Marc Sumerak. Daarin staat zwart op wit dat Luke Skywalker op de hoogte was van Cals bestaan en zijn verzet tegen het Keizerrijk. <\/p>\n<p>Aangezien dat boek zich afspeelt na de originele trilogie, impliceert het dat Cal de val van het Imperium heeft overleefd. Dat opent de deur naar kruisbestuivingen met personages als Ahsoka Tano, mocht Lucasfilm die kant op willen.<\/p>\n<p>Over live-action gesproken, Monaghan liet zich daar in 2024 al over uit op een FanExpo. Hij doet het alleen als het het verhaal dient. \u201cIt would have to be right. I don\u2019t want him to just kind of show up to stand around and be there. I want him to mean something.\u201d Geen onredelijk standpunt voor een personage dat tot nu toe zorgvuldig is opgebouwd<\/p>\n<p>Een derde deel in de Jedi-gameserie is momenteel in ontwikkeling bij Respawn Entertainment. Veel wijst erop dat het de trilogie afsluit, met Cals worsteling met de Dark Side als centraal thema.
