Rond 22:00 ontdekte een bewaker de brand toen hij zijn ronde deed op het Prins Alexanderplein. In het getroffen pand zit ook de stadswinkel &#8211; een gemeentekantoor &#8211; Alexander van de Gemeente Rotterdam.
