De schurk speelt een grote rol in het vervolg op <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmtotaal.nl\/film\/30224\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Superman<\/a>, dat wederom wordt geregisseerd door <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmtotaal.nl\/persoon\/61536\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">James Gunn<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Gunn kondigde het castingnieuws zelf aan op zijn sociale media. De schurk zal gespeeld worden door de Duitse acteur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmtotaal.nl\/persoon\/136684\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lars Eidinger<\/a>, bekend van films zoals All the Light We Cannot See en Das Licht. <\/p>\n<p>Brainiac<br \/>Brainiac debuteerde in de Superman-stripboeken in 1958. Hij is een intergalactische schurk met superintelligentie, die door het universum reist om steden te verzamelen voor zijn collectie. <\/p>\n<p>Een van deze steden is Kandor, de hoofdstad van de planeet Krypton waar Superman vandaan komt. In sommige verhaallijnen is Brainiac zelfs verantwoordelijk voor de vernietiging van de planeet zelf. <\/p>\n<p>Nieuwe film<br \/>De nieuwe film heet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmtotaal.nl\/film\/42508\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Man of Tomorrow<\/a> en is volgens Gunn geen direct vervolg op Superman, maar heeft wel een grote rol voor de superheld weggelegd.
