GENEVA, Ohio – President Donald Trump is scheduled to drop in on Ashtabula County today to visit what’s being called the White House Patriot Games.
The President’s official schedule says he will leave Washington and travel to a boarding school for young athletes in Geneva, Ohio, on Tuesday.
White House Patriot Games organizers bill the events as a “national youth athletics competition celebrating the next generation of American leaders, competitors, and champions.”
The multi-day event, part of the Freedom 250 celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, wraps up today at Spire Academy.
According to its website, Spire Academy is an international boarding and day school for high school and post-graduate student athletes set on an 800-acre athletic and academic campus. The website boasts 850,000 square feet of indoor facilities.
The competition will award a $250,000 scholarship prize pool to one male and one female athlete.
Spire’s website notes that today’s event is a closed, White House-hosted event.
The official White House schedule does not list the times that the President will arrive in or leave from northeast Ohio. He’s expected to return to the White House later today.
