Future Miami golfer Kai Trump made an appearance at the Masters Tournament this week. The granddaughter of President Donald J. Trump posted a series of photos on her Instagram, including one with major champion Bryson DeChambeau.
“What a special place,” Kai wrote on Instagram.
The 18-year-old is a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and has taken a break from competitive golf after undergoing left wrist surgery in January, noting on social media that it was “to address injuries to the stabilizing tissues of my ECU tendon and damage to my fibrocartilage complex.” She’s slated to start hitting balls again in May.
Kai will begin her freshman year at Miami in August and has dreams of one day earning her LPGA card.
Last fall, Trump made her debut on the LPGA at The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, where she surprised many with her 83-75 performance. One sports book had her over/under for Round 1 at 92.5, based on a junior golf record that is exceptionally thin compared to most. On Friday at Pelican, Kai poured in four birdies – including a near ace with a tight draw on the par-3 12th. She had longtime family friend Allan Kournikova, brother of famed tennis player Anna Kournikova, on the bag.
Kai is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, who are divorced. Vanessa dates five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods, who was working toward a return to the Masters before a recent DUI arrest.
