Kathmandu. Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane and United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation. US Secretary of State Rubio contacted Chairman Lamichhane by telephone.
During the conversation, Secretary of State Rubio expressed deep sorrow over the human casualties caused by the severe flood in Bhote Koshi and conveyed his condolences. He also expressed solidarity with the Nepali people and the Government of Nepal during this time of disaster.
In response, Chairman Lamichhane informed that the Government of Nepal is mobilizing all available resources for the ongoing search, rescue, and relief efforts in the flood-affected areas. He assured Secretary of State Rubio that the government is fully committed to the safety of not only Nepali citizens but also foreign nationals residing in Nepal.
Chairman Lamichhane expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the goodwill and support shown by the US government in this difficult situation. During the conversation, Secretary of State Rubio expressed his commitment that the United States is always ready to provide further assistance to the Government of Nepal as needed.
