Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA unveiled its driver lineup for the 2027 World Endurance Championship season on Thursday. Antonio Felix da Costa and Ricky Taylor complete the roster, while Alex Lynn and Sébastien Bourdais will leave the British team at the end of the current season.
Cadillac’s presence in the WEC will change next season. Alongside Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, Norman Nato and Will Stevens, who retain their seats, the Cadillac V-Series.R will welcome two drivers in 2027 who are already familiar with the team: António Félix da Costa, who is returning to JOTA, and Ricky Taylor, a mainstay of the Cadillac program in IMSA.
For the Portuguese driver, this comeback has a special significance. A World Endurance Champion and class winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the British team, da Costa experienced one of the most successful periods in his career with them, and he makes no secret of it. “ Coming back to JOTA is something truly special,” he confides. “ I have incredible memories there and still many friends, so in a way, it’s like coming home. ” The context, however, is no longer the same, and the driver knows it: “ It’s a completely new challenge. The team has shown what it’s capable of at the highest level, and I’m returning with only one goal: to help them fight for victories and titles. ”
Ricky Taylor, meanwhile, is preparing to experience the World Championship full-time for the first time in his career. The American isn’t exactly a stranger to the sport, however, having already replaced Alex Lynn, who was recovering from surgery, at the Austin round earlier this year. With 32 wins and 76 podium finishes in IMSA, he says he is ” very honored ” to join a team accustomed to success on the world stage and claims to already feel ” at home .”
From a management perspective, the focus is on both experience and team chemistry. Sam Hignett, co-founder of the team, welcomes the arrival of ” two extremely talented drivers who already know the team well ” and who, above all, will integrate seamlessly into the existing roster. This sentiment is echoed by Eric Warren, Vice President of Motorsports at Cadillac, for whom the long-standing relationship between the two new recruits and the American brand is a major asset in a discipline where teamwork is crucial.
These arrivals are accompanied by two significant departures. Present since the creation of the partnership between JOTA and Cadillac, Sébastien Bourdais brought his experience and technical expertise, securing several podium finishes in two seasons. ” I am very proud of what we have accomplished together ,” emphasizes the Le Mans native, who now intends to ” finish on a high note ” in the last two races of the season.
Alex Lynn, meanwhile, is closing a five-year chapter with Cadillac, including two years with JOTA. The Briton leaves behind a rich record, which he recounts with emotion: four pole positions in the WEC, including the ” most special ” one at Le Mans, the brand’s first overall podium finish at Le Mans, Cadillac’s first World Championship victory in São Paulo, and two wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring. ” I always gave it my all, and I’ll continue to do so for the last two races ,” he promises. The Briton is expected to join McLaren.
