The world’s prestigious Time Magazine on Wednesday released its TIME100 list for 2026, featuring several prominent personalities associated with India. This year, Sundar Pichai, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vikas Khanna were recognised for their global influence.
Published annually, the list highlights 100 of the most influential individuals across fields such as entertainment, technology, finance, sport, activism, and academia. In previous years, figures including Shah Rukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Narendra Modi, Deepika Padukone, and Mahatma Gandhi have also featured on the TIME100 list.

Vikas Khanna calls it a moment of pride
Renowned chef Vikas Khanna described the recognition as a moment of pride. He said that being included in the TIME100 list for 2026 is an immense honour. Khanna attributed the achievement to his family, stating that he has reached this position due to the sacrifices, blessings, and guidance of his grandmother, mother, and sister.
The TIME100 2026 list also includes global figures such as Ralph Lauren, Kate Hudson, Ethan Hawke, Mark Kelly, and Hilary Knight, recognised for their outstanding contributions in Art & Fashion. It highlights leaders navigating conflict and controversy, including Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.
At the same time, younger and unconventional leaders have also gained prominence. Balendra Shah, a former hip-hop artist turned Prime Minister of Nepal, and Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected mayor of New York and son of filmmaker Mira Nair, has also found place in the list with other influential personalities.
No Indian was featured in 2025 list
Notably, no Indian was included in Time Magazine’s 2025 list of the world’s 100 most influential people. It marked the first such instance in the list’s 21-year history that no Indian featured.
