The internet’s fascination with Barron Trump keeps growing and his sister-in-law, Lara Trump, believes she understands why.
On her podcast, “The Right View,” Lara said the attention itself is the reason the youngest son of President Donald Trump stays out of the spotlight. Reading a fan question — “What’s Barron Trump like and does he know the entire internet is obsessed with him?” — she offered a rare look at the private first son.
“I don’t know if he knows the internet is obsessed with him. I think he knows there’s a lot of interest, but that’s why he likes to lay low,” she said. “That’s why he plays it cool, that’s why you don’t see him all the time.”
Lara added that Barron’s low profile fuels curiosity.
“I say this all the time — I feel like he’s a sleeper, like you want to hear more about Barron because you see less of him and I think that’s kind of cool.”
She also said he is well aware of what is happening around him.
“He knows what’s going on out there. He’s up on all of it… he gets it. He gets what’s going on out there… he’s funny. He turned out to be a really great kid. Barron’s cool. Don’t sleep on Barron, he’s the best,” she said.
Lara hinted at his future as well, saying “he’s excited to finish up college and get out and work,” with about two years left before graduation.
White House dinners and a growing family bond
Lara said the family meets for Sunday night dinners at the White House, one of the few times they regularly see Barron. These gatherings offer a rare glimpse into a life that remains largely private. She also described President Trump as a hands-on father who has influenced all five of his children. He shares Donald Jr., 48, Ivanka, 44 and Eric, 42, with his late ex-wife Ivana Trump. He also has Tiffany, 32, with Marla Maples. Barron is the youngest child of First Lady Melania Trump.
What did Melania say
Melania has also spoken about him in recent interviews. On Fox Business, she said, “He’s an incredible young man. We are very proud of him. Second year in Stern School of Business and he loves it.”
She compared his time in the White House now to his earlier years.
“This time it’s very different because he’s 19 years old and the first time he was 10 years old. He understands politics. He gives advice to his father. We talk about it, so very different.”
Melania has long been protective of her son. According to a source cited by People magazine, “Melania watches Barron constantly in an effort to be sure nobody messes with him or bullies him, as this is a constant worry with her. She always knows where he is and what he’s doing.”
Barron’s low profile continues to drive public interest. Some admire his quiet and focused approach, while others remain critical of his reserved nature.
As Lara suggested, the less he is seen, the more people want to know.
