BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said the next two to two-and-a-half decades would mark the “era of India,” citing strong long-term growth prospects and the country’s expanding economic base.

Speaking at a fireside chat titled Investing for a New Era with Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Fink said India is among the most compelling investment destinations globally and could sustain growth of 8–10% over the next decade and beyond.

“When you think about the growth of India, it’s not a quarter, not a week, not a year. It’s a long horizon,” Fink said.

“You can say this is the era for India, and it will last for the next 20 to 25 years.”

The BlackRock CEO said India’s growth story is increasingly driven by domestic strength rather than reliance on foreign capital alone.

While overseas investment remains important, he said a strong domestic economy, supported by long-term retirement savings, forms the foundation of sustainable growth.

“I do believe in the combination of foreign capital from investors who believe in the era of India,” Fink said.

“But the fundamental foundation of any country is having its domestic economy built on the back of retirement savings.”
