Berkshire Hathaway weekend 2026: What you need to know

  • 2026-04-29

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – It’s an annual event that puts Omaha on the map, captivating a business-class audience worldwide; but this year’s Berkshire Hathaway weekend will quite literally take some twists and turns.

With Omaha Streetcar construction heavily underway in the downtown area and all along the route that serves as a popular pilgrimage to Warren Buffett’s office location, navigating the highlights this year won’t be for the faint of heart, especially along much of Farnam Street. Simultaneously, Eppley Airfield expansion construction continues, hitting the halfway mark in March.

NEW THIS YEARABEL CENTER-STAGE

The city isn’t the only thing that’s been undergoine transition over the last several months and beyond. Berkshire Hathaway itself has changed since shareholders last met in Omaha. The chairman and former CEO of Berkshire Hathway won’t be at center stage this year: Buffett retired in December, formally positioning Greg Abel as the head of the company.

Able will run the official meeting Saturday at CHI Health Center arena in downtown Omaha, which will be bookended by a couple of Q&A sessions.

Related events get underway Friday, so expect to see a flurry of arrivals at Eppley Airfield on Thursday. It’s also not uncommon to see visitors wandering through downtown and Blackstone as early as Wednesday.

CLEAR-BAG POLICY

Shareholders attending the meeting at CHI arena are allowed to bring in small purses, clutches, and wallets no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches, but any other bags must be transparent and uncolored. Gallon-sized plastic freezer bags are also permitted.

Luggage and backpacks can be stowed at baggage checks available outside the building, near Meca Drive, on Friday on Saturday. A second check will be made available Saturday near the plaza-level entrance.

FRIDAYPICK-UP

Shareholders will be dropping by CHI Health Center Arena from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to pick up their credentials. Those planning to participate in Sunday’s 5K can pick up their packets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Peak Performance Pop-up, located at 501 N. 13th St.

SHOPPING!

Friday is also when Berkshire holds its big shareholder-only shopping events. From noon to 5 p.m. Friday, there will be discounts available at the exhibit hall. Afterwards, from 6-8 p.m., shareholders can head to Borsheim’s jewelry store at the Regency Shopping Center for an exclusive shopping event open only to shareholders.

NFM’s discount period started Saturday, April 22 and runs through Tuesday, May 5. Those deals are available at NFM stores in Des Moines, Kansas City, and Dallas/Fort Worth.

SATURDAYMEETING

Doors to the main event open at 7 a.m., with the welcome and business update cheduled for 8:30 a.m. Two Q&A sessions are planned for 9:30 and 11:45 a.m., with a break in between.

As in previous years, cameras are not permitted at the main event; but you can watch the meeting online at CNBC.com. Livestreamed coverage starts there at 9:15 a.m.

The actual shareholders meeting gets underway at 2 p.m. Saturday.

PICNIC

The NFM Berkshire picnic, with food and live entertainment, picks up after that from 4-8 p.m. at NFM. A limited shuttle service will be provided for shareholders.

SHOPPING

Borsheim’s continues its shareholder-only shopping from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

SUNDAYINVEST IN YOURSELF 5K

Berkshire Hathaway weekend wraps up Sunday with a 5K run/walk from 8-11 a.m. in downtown Omaha.
