In Yerevan, officials highlighted new commitments to Ukraine’s air defenses. The pledge points to accelerated deliveries and deeper defense collaboration.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, during a meeting in Yerevan on the sidelines of the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the PURL program is functioning and anti-ballistic missiles will continue to be supplied to Ukraine.

The head of state announced this in a Telegram post.

“Today we discussed with Mark Rutte the implementation of the PURL program and the attraction of new contributions from partners. It is important that there is confirmation from Mark that the program is working and anti-ballistic missiles will be supplied to Ukraine going forward. It is important to deepen defense cooperation between Ukraine and NATO members, implement joint projects and work on joint production”

Meeting outcomes and prospects for PURL funding

The president expressed gratitude for Ukraine’s support in the fight against Russian aggression, particularly for the PURL program, which enables protection against Russia’s ballistic strikes.

After the meeting with Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney, Zelensky stated that Ottawa is providing an additional $200 million to the PURL fund.

Overall, for the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), through which NATO member countries fund Ukraine’s weapons purchases, $15 billion is needed for 2026.

Such efforts underscore the long-standing support for Ukraine from partners and a significant contribution to its defense strategy.
