President Donald J. Trump issued a sharp warning to his supporters on Sunday, taking to Truth Social to criticize a new “Election Integrity Group” recently formed by Senate Democrats.
The President’s comments follow the news that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has recruited high-profile figures, including former Attorney General Eric Holder and veteran Democratic attorney Marc Elias, to spearhead the effort.
In his post, President Trump characterized the appointments as a direct threat to the upcoming 2026 midterm elections.
He specifically pointed to Holder’s tenure under the Obama administration and Elias’s past legal work, including his role in the 2016 Russia investigation, as evidence that the group intends to interfere with the voting process.
“Palestinian Chuck Schumer is hiring Eric Holder, famous for handing guns to Mexican cartels under the Barack Hussein Obama administration, as part of a Democrat-led ‘Election Integrity Group’ that will no doubt try to suppress Republican voters, and interfere in our Elections,” the President wrote.

He further labeled Elias a “terrible lawyer” and blamed him for the “fake Russia dossier” used during his first term.
The President’s message also looked back at his 2024 victory, which he described as a historic win across every swing state that secured both the Electoral College and the popular vote. He credited the success of that election in part to what he called a “Republican Election Integrity Army” and pledged to deploy a similar, more robust operation for the 2026 cycle.
“We will be doing the same again in 2026, but it will be much bigger and stronger,” Trump stated, emphasizing that the goal is to ensure all Americans can have their voices heard. “Be assured this Election will be fair!”
The Democratic task force, described by Senator Schumer as an effort to protect the midterms from “direct threats,” has stated its mission is to ensure every vote is counted and to combat voter suppression. However, President Trump maintained that the move is an act of desperation by an “unhinged” opposition party.
As both parties begin to mobilize their legal and grassroots teams, the rhetoric suggests that election oversight will remain a central and contentious issue leading into the 2026 contests.
