At NATO Headquarters in Brussels, a session of the NATO–Ukraine Council convened at ambassadorial level under the chairmanship of Secretary General Mark Rutte, centering on the activities of the NATO–Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC).
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the session reviewed the outcomes and ongoing activities of JATEC, which was established to strengthen cooperation between the Alliance and Ukraine in the areas of military analysis, training, and education.
Participants emphasized that Ukraine’s security is inseparable from NATO’s security, underscoring that Ukraine is not only a recipient of assistance but also a contributor to Euro-Atlantic security. NATO has already drawn a range of lessons from Ukraine’s battlefield experience, which are being integrated into Alliance doctrines and defence planning. Adaptability, speed, and innovation were highlighted as key factors in operational success.
The main presentations were delivered by Supreme Allied Commander Transformation Admiral Pierre Vandier and Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defence Lieutenant General Yevhen Moisiuk. Both sides noted that in less than a year, JATEC has produced tangible results, emerging as a mechanism for converting battlefield challenges into practical solutions.
Head of Ukraine’s Mission to NATO Alyona Getmanchuk stated that JATEC, created to enhance interoperability and facilitate the exchange of experience from the full-scale war, has already received recognition through innovative competitions and the participation of Ukrainian servicemen in NATO exercises.
