The first family of the United States may officially have a new member as early as this weekend, according to reports.

President Donald Trump‘s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., 48, announced his engagement to Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, 37, in late 2025, after about a year of dating. While the pair didn’t publicly set a date at the time, several reports from Page Six, People, the Daily Beast and the Daily Mail have since said the couple could be married as early as Memorial Day weekend.

The couple was first spotted together in 2024, shortly after Trump Jr.’s split from Fox News host and U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle. This would be his second marriage; the first to Vanessa Trump ended back in 2018.

The couple has yet to formally announce their wedding plans. A representative for Trump Jr. did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for confirmation.

Here’s what to know about Bettina Anderson, Trump Jr. and the relationship that will bring another member into the Trump clan.

Bettina Anderson went to Columbia University and lived in New York for a few extra years, she said in a March 2024 podcast appearance. She started a nonprofit with her brothers, and her LinkedIn lists her current job as the executive director of Paradise.ngo. Trump Jr.’s relationships before his engagement to Anderson

Donald Trump Jr. was previously married to former model Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018. They have five children, including rising golf star Kai Trump. Currently, Vanessa Trump is dating golf legend and Donald Trump’s longtime friend, Tiger Woods.

Donald Trump Jr. started dating Kimberly Guilfoyle in 2018 after his divorce was finalized. The pair were engaged and bought a house together in 2021 and split sometime in 2024.

In late 2024, Donald Trump Jr. was publicly spotted with Anderson.

Timeline of Anderson and Trump Jr.’s relationship

Bettina Anderson and Donald Trump Jr. first began appearing in public together in December 2024.

By the time their late 2025 engagement happened, the pair had attended several high-profile events together, including Donald Trump’s inauguration and the 2025 Super Bowl LIX, as well as the president’s 79th birthday and the accompanying Army military parade celebration in Washington, DC.

They were engaged at Camp David, the private Maryland country retreat maintained for the president, while celebrating Anderson’s birthday in December.

Trump Jr. announced their engagement at a White House holiday party on Dec. 15,  saying, “I just want to wish all of you guys an incredible holiday season … and to thank Bettina for that one word, ‘yes,'” he said in a video clip from the event.

“This has really been the most unforgettable weekend of my life, and I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel just like the luckiest girl in the world,” Anderson added.

An extravagant bridal shower was held for Anderson in April at Mar-a-Lago, during which Trump Jr. appeared to visit to drop off a huge bouquet of red roses, according to Anderson’s Instagram.

While multiple publications, including Page Six, People and the Daily Beast, reported that the pair considered more opulent nuptials in the under-construction White House ballroom or at Mar-a-Lago, the same sources have since reported the pair has opted for a more private ceremony, possibly in the Bahamas.
