President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on May 22 that the Turkish government is preparing to roll out a series of legal, administrative, financial, and institutional reforms aimed at enhancing Türkiye’s global competitiveness and improving its investment climate.
Speaking at the Financial Literacy Day event in Istanbul, President Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye’s resilience amid regional instability and positioned the country as a “safe haven” in the region.“
The incidents recently unfolding in our region attest to Türkiye’s resilience against crises with its economy, defense, diplomatic competence and social solidarity as well as the stability it has secured in its administration,” Erdoğan stated. “The current period has once again demonstrated that Türkiye is a safe haven in its region. As the government, we are determined to further strengthen this unique feature of our country in the period ahead.”
Erdoğan emphasized the government’s commitment to swift action, saying:“We aim to implement soon the legal, administrative, financial and institutional regulations that will boost Türkiye’s global competitiveness and ameliorate its financial and investment environment.”
The President’s remarks come as Türkiye seeks to attract greater foreign investment and solidify its economic standing amid ongoing regional challenges. The planned reforms are expected to focus on improving the overall business and investment ecosystem.
The event, held to promote financial literacy, provided a platform for Erdoğan to underscore Türkiye’s economic stability and future-oriented policies. (ILKHA)
