Elon Musk wasn’t impressed by the series finale of The Boys.
The Tesla CEO shared over a dozen posts related to the last episode of the satirical superhero series on Thursday and Friday, igniting a beef on X with the show’s creator, Eric Kripke.
Musk replied to a Boys viewer describing the finale’s treatment of superpowered antagonist Homelander (Antony Starr) with one word: “Pathetic.”
He then responded to a different post about Homelander’s humiliation with a shot at The Boys’ showrunner: “Kripke probably got flack from his wife’s bf for Homelander being used in based memes and had to write that ending as a groveling apology.”
Kripke was seemingly delighted by Musk’s disapproval, as he shared the “pathetic” post with the caption, “OMG this is his review of what @TheBoysTV did to Homelander, I’ll never get a better review ever.”

Musk then responded to Kripke’s post by insisting that he hadn’t watchedThe Boys (or, at least, the finale that he repeatedly posted about: “I didn’t watch the show tbh”).
He added, “Here’s the second best review,” followed by a link to his aforementioned post about the “groveling apology.”
In another reply to a different skeptical Boys viewer, Musk wrote, “Kripke is simply projecting his own cowardice.”
Musk also claimed to be unbothered by the show. “I’m not upset, just remarking that the ending sounds fake and gay,” he wrote in another post.
He later added, “I just it’s really funny to call Homolander fake & gay. Cracks me up everytime 🤣🤣.”
The Boys finale briefly introduced a character with a number of striking parallels to Musk. The character, Günter Van Ellis (Ivan Sherry), is seen pestering Oh Father (Daveed Diggs) and Homelander at the White House.
In his single scene, Günter is described as the “world’s richest man” and an “amateur astronaut” with 17 children — a not-so-subtle dig at Musk, who is currently the richest person in the world and has explored space travel with his company SpaceX (though he only has 14 kids, so not every detail aligns perfectly).

The billionaire also wears a black baseball cap that says “We believe in Homelander,” which looks suspiciously like Musk’s black “Make America Great Again” hat from Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
Shortly after Günter tries to discuss “white fertility rates,” Homelander takes the billionaire outside, grabs him, and flies into the sky before returning alone, indicating that Günter is no more.
“He’s an astronaut, I took him to space,” Homelander says.
Musk did not mention Günter in any of his posts.

Kripke later shared a screenshot of two of Musk’s posts and ridiculed the billionaire for his comedic instincts. “HAHAHAHAH. He’s posting. MULTIPLE TIMES. Also I have notes on his joke writing,” the showrunner wrote.

Kripke also pondered why his X account had a blue check mark, which indicates a paid subscription to the social media platform’s premium tier. “Thanks for the free blue check mark I guess?” he wrote.
Musk later wrote, “I gave him a blue check on the house for driving so much traffic to X 😂.”
