President Trump visits northwestern Wisconsin to talk agriculture<\/p>\n

Trump also detailed efforts to improve the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool and fountains around the nation’s capital<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump returned to Wisconsin Friday for the first time since he won the 2024 election.<\/p>\n

The president visited Custer Farms in Chippewa Falls to talk agriculture with farmers but spent large stretches of his speech talking about his recent efforts to spruce up Washington.<\/p>\n

Trump extensively detailed efforts to improve the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool and fountains around the nation’s capital. At one point, he showed off charts that not everyone attending could see. <\/p>\n

The White House said Trump would be hitting the road ahead of November’s midterm elections to promote Republican candidates.<\/p>\n

“We love the farmers, we love everything about your state,” Trump told his audience during a roundtable at Custer Farms, which makes a unique heat-processed soybean product used to feed animals on dairy farms.<\/p>\n

“Wisconsin for me has been just a great place. It’s known as difficult. It’s difficult. You gotta be good to win. But we won here, as you know. We won it a lot. We’re trying to figure out who the few people who voted against us are. We’re looking for them right now,” Trump said. <\/p>\n

Even when he finally returned to comments about farmers, Trump said, “I’m up here today. I don’t need this. I got elected.” <\/p>\n

Rallying for his party ahead of the midterm elections, Trump described the Republican Party as the only option for farmers. He said Democrats’ policies are “just outstandingly bad” and “really bad for the farmer.” <\/p>\n

Trump also reiterated his confidence that the war in Iran will soon come to an end and gas prices will fall.<\/p>\n

“As they say in the farming business, we had to take care of business,” Trump said. <\/p>\n

Ahead of Trump’s visit, Democrats slammed the president’s rural agenda. <\/p>\n

“Well, Trump’s coming here to tout his MAGA agenda while farmers and working families are struggling; it’s just totally out of touch and a slap in the face to the people of western Wisconsin,” state Sen. Jeff Smith said.<\/p>\n

Several famous Wisconsin sports stars joined Trump at Custer Farms.<\/p>\n

Kewaskum native and Olympic gold medalist Jordan Stolz shared one of his medals with the president.<\/p>\n

Sitting to his left at the roundtable was Joe Thomas, who played football at Brookfield Central and Wisconsin. He’s an NFL Hall of Famer and a farm owner himself.<\/p>\n
