Two Republican House<\/a> members are threatening to oppose any action House Speaker Mike Johnson<\/a> (R-LA) puts on the floor until the Senate<\/a> passes a GOP-led voter ID<\/a> bill.<\/p>\n

Reps. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) and Chip Roy (R-TX) on Tuesday escalated their pledges to oppose any legislation sent to the House by the Senate, announcing that they will also vote against procedural rule votes until the Senate passes the SAVE America<\/a> Act.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe House GOP is attempting to move a Senate Bill with NO VOTER ID and NO SAVE AMERICA ACT,\u201d Luna wrote on X. \u201cI will have to be a NO on rules for this week (and maybe even longer) if they don\u2019t stop the games. I am not the only one. Other House Members are frustrated at the games being played. This is a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThe President agrees that the Senate needs to move Voter ID. Other Frontline Members depend on Voter ID legislation getting passed. Stop catering to a Senate that doesn\u2019t do their jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson can afford to lose only three Republican votes on the House floor, assuming all Democrats are present. Luna and Roy\u2019s opposition will mean Johnson can afford to lose only one more GOP vote if he hopes to pass legislation on the floor under regular order this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The House is set to vote Tuesday evening on a Senate-passed bipartisan housing<\/a> bill, which would increase the housing supply by easing federal regulations, under a suspension of the rule, meaning it must pass with a two-thirds majority.<\/p>\n

While the housing legislation is expected to pass with bipartisan support, a number of House Republicans have pledged to vote no on legislation sent by the Senate over the stalling of the SAVE American Act.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Senate cannot keep obstructing President Trump\u2019s agenda while ignoring election integrity,\u201d Luna wrote in a post on Monday. \u201cI call on my fellow colleagues to stand firm and honor their pledge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roy, while calling the Senate\u2019s housing legislation a \u201cbad bill,\u201d wrote on X that he will \u201coppose other bills AND rules until we fight for SAVE, HR2 (border codification), ban in congressional stock trading, & a reconciliation 3 that isn\u2019t a fake pay-for approps bill.\u201d<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump<\/a> has repeatedly demanded that Senate Republicans pass the SAVE America Act, going as far as to threaten to veto an extension of a key government surveillance<\/a> program that expired last week if it is not attached.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got to pass the SAVE America Act,\u201d Trump said Tuesday at a Pennsylvania rally to a raucous applause.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can never let elections get rigged again,\u201d he later added.<\/p>\n

Senate Majority Leader John Thune<\/a> (R-SD) has been under increased pressure from Trump and his base to eliminate the 60-vote filibuster to pass the party\u2019s agenda, including the SAVE America Act, but the majority leader has maintained that the votes \u201caren\u2019t there\u201d even if the Senate moved to do so.<\/p>\n

Tensions flared in the Senate last week among some Republicans toward Sen.
