Barbara, focused on Trump\u2019s order that children born in the U.S. to parents in the country, either temporarily or illegally, are not American citizens,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2026\/06\/29\/supreme-court-cases-birthright-citizenship-transgender-athletes-remain-undecided\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Washington Post<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The majority opinion was written by Chief Justice John Roberts, who said that citizenship dates back to English common law and being \u201cborn within the dominions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCitizenship, then and now, was the right to have rights\u2014to freely participate in our political community.
