Karlie Kloss is doubling down on being a Democrat.<\/p>\n
The model made a rare comment on her husband Josh Kushner\u2019s Trump family<\/a> ties in a Bloomberg Originals interview<\/a>, published Wednesday.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a Democrat. It\u2019s possible to have relationships with people who you politically don\u2019t align with,\u201d she insisted. \u201cAnd I think this country has always been a place for dialogue. Patrick McMullan via Getty Images<\/p>\n The 33-year-old, whose partner\u2019s brother, Jared Kushner, is married to President Donald Trump\u2019s daughter Ivanka Trump<\/a>, added, \u201cI know who I am. <\/p>\n \u201cI know the values that guide my life and the issues that I care about,\u201d she continued. \u201cSo, you know, I haven\u2019t lost sight of who I am, but also, it\u2019s my husband\u2019s family.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked about the dynamic at family dinners, Kloss pointed out, \u201cWe\u2019re sitting here in St. Louis, which is a blue dot in a red state. Getty Images<\/p>\n Jared, 45, and Ivanka, 44, meanwhile, have been married since October 2009.<\/p>\n Josh and Kloss were noticeably absent from the couple\u2019s 10th anniversary bash<\/a> in 2019.<\/p>\n The subsequent year, Kloss made headlines for taking a swipe at her in-laws after Donald\u2019s supporters stormed the United States Capitol<\/a> in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n After Kloss tweeted that \u201caccepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic [and] refusing to do so and inciting violence is anti-American,\u201d a social media user told her to \u201ctell\u201d her family members \u2014 and she replied, \u201cI\u2019ve tried.\u201d<\/p>\n Kloss (pictured above on June 12) wed Josh in 2018. karliekloss\/Instagram<\/p>\n By the time Kloss started dating Josh in 2012, Jared was already married to Ivanka (pictured above in January 2025).
