The Alabama Farmers Federation announced last Friday its endorsements of John Roberts for Senate District 2, which covers Madison and Limestone counties; Danielle Duggar for Alabama House District 96 in Baldwin County; and Jeff Monroe for Alabama House of Representatives District 37 to replace the vacancy created by the retirement of Representative Bob Fincher. District 37 encompasses portions of Chambers, Lee and Randolph counties.<\/p>\n
\u201cJohn Roberts will do an exceptional job for the people and businesses of this district,\u201d said Charles Butler, president of the Madison County Farmers Federation. \u201cHe has a strong work ethic, and we look forward to his service in the Senate.\u201d<\/p>\n
Limestone County farmers also expressed confidence in Roberts.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cJohn Roberts will be an outstanding public servant\u2014one we can depend on to watch over farming issues in the Alabama Senate,\u201d said Jerry Allen Newby, president of the Limestone County Farmers Federation. \u201cHe will be a strong voice for agriculture and business in Montgomery.\u201d<\/p>\n
Roberts received his bachelor\u2019s degree and master of public administration from the University of Alabama. He is a real estate development manager for Freedom Real Estate & Capital LLC in Huntsville. He previously served as business retention and expansion director at the Huntsville\/Madison County Chamber of Commerce and director of government affairs and workforce development with the Huntsville Madison County Builders Association.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an honor to receive the endorsement of the Alabama Farmers Federation,\u201d said Roberts. \u201cI am excited about representing the farmers, their agricultural issues and all the constituents of District 2 in Madison and Limestone counties.\u201d<\/p>\n
Baldwin County Farmers Federation President Hope Cassebaum stated, \u201cDanielle Duggar is a conservative leader in our community and one who truly wants to represent our best interests in Montgomery. She will ensure farmers have a voice in the House of Representatives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duggar has a master\u2019s degree from the nation\u2019s oldest military college, Norwich University, and a graduate certificate in learning design and technology. She is a former educator and serves as a legislative analyst for a national conservative nonprofit.<\/p>\n
\u201cI realize the importance of agriculture to our county and state, and I appreciate the hard work our farmers do, so I am honored to receive their endorsement,\u201d said Duggar. \u201cI look forward to working with them to make Baldwin County an even better place to live, work and raise a family.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cJeff Monroe has served this county for years both personally and professionally,\u201d said Jason McKay, president of the Chambers County Farmers Federation. \u201cHe knows the importance of agriculture to District 37, and he will ensure that farmers have a voice in Montgomery.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lee County farmers echoed this support.<\/p>\n
\u201cJeff Monroe is a hard-working leader who will ensure Lee County has representation in Montgomery,\u201d said Robert Walters, president of the Lee County Farmers Federation. \u201cHe realizes the importance of farmers, knows our needs and will stand up for us in the Legislature.\u201d<\/p>\n
Monroe holds degrees in public safety administration and public and private management. After a 45-year career in public safety, Monroe retired in 2015. He continues to serve through his volunteer fire service and helps fire departments across the state secure critical grant funding. Monroe has served the town of Five Points for over 20 years collectively as a council member and mayor.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an honor to have the endorsement of the farmers of this county,\u201d said Monroe. \u201cI know the importance of agriculture in this district, and we will work together to ensure the best interests of the farmers and all the people of HD 37 are met.\u201d<\/p>\n
