{"id":194076,"date":"2026-08-19T07:57:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-19T07:57:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/194076\/"},"modified":"2026-08-19T07:57:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T07:57:19","slug":"a-mission-for-mamdani-rescue-the-trafficked-women-of-the-blade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/194076\/","title":{"rendered":"A mission for Mamdani: Rescue the trafficked women of &#8216;the Blade&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brutal pimps victimize women constantly in the Penn Track open-air sex market; human trafficking is a daily affair . . . and City Hall\u2019s response is to have its tiny Office of Community Safety talk with the Brooklyn DA\u2019s Office about \u201capproaches that will deliver durable solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That was the comment Mayor Zohran Mamdani\u2019s people provided for Megan Palin\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/08\/17\/us-news\/inside-brooklyns-seedy-penn-track-sex-market-where-pimps-murder-and-human-trafficking-are-part-of-daily-life\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Post expos\u00e9 on \u201cthe Blade\u201d blocks of East New York.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is grim reading indeed.<\/p>\n<p>The NYPD sex-crimes unit and the FBI\u00a0recently took down one notorious pimp: Omari \u201cPrince\u201d Scott, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-edny\/pr\/brooklyn-man-sentenced-50-years-prison-sex-trafficking-and-murder-course-sex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">sentenced to 50 years<\/a> for a host of crimes last month; two others face serious charges.<\/p>\n<p>But many more remain in the streets around Pennsylvania Avenue, running strings of next-to-naked prostitutes \u2014 each renting her body for as little as $85 a trick to make a \u201cquota\u201d of perhaps $1,000 a night for the pimp who holds her in de facto slavery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeaving sounds easy until you think about it,\u201d one Penn Track victim told The Post. \u201cYou got no money \u2014 he got it all. You got no phone \u2014 it\u2019s in his name.
